The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident and is asking anyone who may have used the dressing room during this time period to come forward.
“This type of alleged conduct represents a serious invasion of privacy and a breach of trust,” said a representative of Whiteside & Goldberg. “Individuals have a fundamental right to privacy, especially in places like dressing rooms. Victims of hidden camera incidents may have legal claims under Illinois law, including invasion of privacy, negligence, and emotional distress. Even individuals who are unsure whether they were directly recorded may still have legal rights if they were exposed to the risk of unlawful surveillance.
