LISA NICHOLS INVITES ATLANTA COMMUNITY TO WITNESS A ‘MAGICAL MOMENT’ AS TEENS GRADUATE FROM MOTIVATING THE TEEN SPIRIT

Sunday Graduation in Decatur Culminates Atlanta Stop of the 2026 Emotional Literacy Tour — Program Returns to Atlanta January 30–31, 2027

DECATUR, GA, UNITED STATES, August 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Internationally recognized transformational speaker and New York Times bestselling author Lisa Nichols is inviting Atlanta-area families, educators, youth leaders and community members to witness a special culmination of Motivating the Teen Spirit’s 2026 Emotional Literacy Tour this Sunday in Decatur.

The Motivating the Teen Spirit Atlanta Graduation will take place Sunday, August 23, from 5:30–7:00 p.m. EST at the Community Achievement Center, bringing together participating teens, their families and members of the community to celebrate the completion of the Atlanta tour experience.

Nichols and the Motivating the Teen Spirit (MTS) team are extending a special invitation to parents to bring their children and teenagers to Sunday’s graduation, even if they did not participate in the full weekend program. The evening offers families an opportunity to experience MTS firsthand and witness what Nichols describes as a “magical moment of transformation” in the journey of participating teens.

“We ask young people to manage their emotions, communicate, make good choices and navigate relationships, but are we giving them the tools to understand what they are feeling in the first place?” said Lisa Nichols, founder of Motivating the Teen Spirit. “When a young person can name what they feel, understand what they need and learn how to respond, they begin to move through life with greater confidence and self-awareness. Our young people deserve the tools to thrive.”

CREATING SAFE SPACES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO THRIVE
Founded in 1998, Motivating the Teen Spirit has spent more than two decades creating safe spaces where young people can strengthen their emotional literacy, develop greater self-awareness and discover what is possible for their lives.

Rather than simply placing expectations on young people to manage what they feel, MTS provides experiences designed to help them better understand themselves, communicate what they need and develop tools they can carry into their lives.

Through its 2026 Emotional Literacy Tour, Motivating the Teen Spirit is bringing this work to communities across the country.

A SPECIAL INVITATION TO ATLANTA: COME WITNESS THE GRADUATION
Sunday’s graduation is more than a closing ceremony. It is an opportunity for the Atlanta community to witness the culmination of the Motivating the Teen Spirit experience and celebrate young people as they reflect on what they have discovered about themselves.

Parents, grandparents, educators, pastors, youth ministers, coaches, mentors and community leaders are invited to attend — and encouraged to bring a young person with them.

For families considering whether MTS might be right for their child, Sunday provides an opportunity to experience the community surrounding the program and learn more before MTS returns to Atlanta.

Sunday’s graduation is also an opportunity for community leaders, corporate and philanthropic partners, foundations, youth-serving organizations and individual supporters to witness the impact firsthand and explore opportunities to invest in what’s possible as a partner with MTS as the Emotional Literacy Tour continues to grow.

MOTIVATING THE TEEN SPIRIT RETURNS TO ATLANTA JANUARY 30–31, 2027
The August graduation marks the culmination of this year’s Atlanta tour stop, but the work continues.

Motivating the Teen Spirit will return to Atlanta January 30–31, 2027, to kick off its 2027 tour, providing another opportunity for young people to participate in the Emotional Literacy Tour experience.

Families, schools, churches, mentoring programs, youth organizations and community partners are encouraged to connect with MTS as preparations begin for the 2027 Atlanta stop.

ABOUT MOTIVATING THE TEEN SPIRIT
Motivating the Teen Spirit (MTS) was founded in 1998 after recognizing that teens were being handed a louder, faster, more emotionally complex world — with no tools to navigate it. Twenty-eight years later, MTS has reached tens of millions of young people and built a track record of creating safe spaces where teens can develop emotional literacy, self-awareness, confidence, communication skills and tools to navigate relationships and life choices. Its reported impact includes more than 2,000 teen suicides prevented and more than 1,600 teens returned to school.

Through its Emotional Literacy Tour, MTS brings this work to communities across the country, equipping young people with tools designed to help them understand themselves, strengthen their voices and thrive.

The next Atlanta Motivating the Teen Spirit tour stop is scheduled for January 30–31, 2027.
